It's funny, crude, and fun to watch: yes!
http://thecampaignmovie.warnerbros.com/dvd/ Fully expected to hate it, but found it watchable, apart from the rampant yellow-face, and non subtitled patois; so glad I didn't read the book. Great editing. It's long, but worth it. Pictured: David Gyasi.
The explosions and demolitions are great, but this bleak film is unforgivably long, bloated, and boring. The fight scenes are weak and the ADR omnipresent. 160 minutes: the nerve! Could somebody please reign in this excess?
Funny dark hard-boiled crime comedy written & directed by Shane Black, staring Robert Downey Jr. & Val Kilmer. Adapted from a Brett Halliday, (né Davis Dresser; born in Chicago, died in Santa Barbara, wrote a ton in between) novel. Loved it!
Director Michael Curtiz (Casablanca, Yankee Doodle Dandy) faithfully interprets Ernest Hemingway's To Have and Have Not with John Garfield as a struggling vet skipper and family man, his mistress Patricia Neal, and a ruthless band of criminals. Great movie. One of Garfield's (an original Bad Ass Mofo) last screen performance.
Pre-Code drama starring Barbra Stanwyck as an ambitious beauty who after a rough start in life followed by a rousing lecture on Nietzche "sleeps" her way to the top. Loved it!
